HELP & SUPPORT
Get back to your sheet.
Setup, customization, exports, and purchase help for Instant Sheet Reports and Instant Row Highlighter.
Install and open Reports
Safari on Mac: open the containing Instant Sheet Reports app, enable its extension in Safari → Settings → Extensions, and allow access to Google Sheets and its export hosts. Open a spreadsheet and click the Reports toolbar button.
Chrome: install from the Chrome Web Store, open a Google spreadsheet, and click Instant Sheet Reports in the Extensions menu. Pin it to the toolbar for quick access.
Google Sheets add-on: choose Extensions → Instant Sheet Reports → Visualize this spreadsheet. The add-on reads the spreadsheet where you open it.
Store releases are being prepared. Download links will be added after approval.
If Safari’s button stops responding after an update
Open the containing Mac app once, check that the extension is enabled in Safari → Settings → Extensions, then reload your Google Sheets tab. If the app’s settings button does not open Safari settings, use Safari’s own Settings menu. Check the extension’s website access if the report cannot read your sheet.
Make the dashboard yours
Click any widget, chart, or table to open its customization. The sidebar groups collapse to keep the controls manageable. Settings are saved for the workbook and worksheet you are viewing.
Layouts, colors, and text
Layout changes the arrangement of the report. Theme changes its colors. Each widget and chart also has its own color options. The Chart graphics / labels slider scales the drawing and labels separately from the card layout. Header and body / label font sliders control report typography. Turn cell references and operation labels off when you want a cleaner presentation.
Charts and missed calculations
Choose horizontal bars, columns, line, area, lollipop, dot plot, stepped line, donut, pie, treemap, waterfall, or heat tiles. Edit a chart’s title, measure, category, aggregation, ordering, and item count. Use a manual cell widget for a missed total, or create a chart from a recognized table or matching category and value ranges. Exclude headers and subtotals from manual ranges.
Tables, columns, and visible rows
Toggle a table off to leave it out of the dashboard and downloads. Choose its columns, rename headers, sort, filter, and set the visible row count. Selected columns move into the Selected columns area. Their initial order follows the table; use the arrows to arrange them yourself.
Presentation-ready PDF and HTML
Edit or hide individual header and footer items, including the workbook name, worksheet name, subtitle, populated-cell count, and Prepared by name. Blank text removes the item and its spacing. PDF header and footer controls are separated from the dashboard controls.
Turn on Linked sidebar in the header menu or Customize to add navigation to the dashboard and both exports. PDF navigation starts at the top of the header area. If its menu is too long for one page, the export removes an equal number of links from the ends of the chart and table groups, continuing with the remaining group if one runs out. Report content and full PDF bookmarks stay in the file.
Calculation sources are omitted from the PDF and its menu. Downloaded HTML is self-contained and works offline. Both downloads are snapshots; open the live dashboard to see later changes.
Live updates and workbook limits
Use Pop out to keep a dashboard linked to its original spreadsheet while you work. Opening a different spreadsheet does not retarget that window. Live mode checks periodically while visible. Refreshes and customization edits preserve your report scroll position.
Google permissions, quotas, export restrictions, workbook size, and network conditions can delay updates. The browser download limit is 30 MB and the parsed populated-cell limit is 500,000. The add-on supports up to 500,000 populated cells, 2 million cell positions, and 25 MB of serialized snapshot data. Hidden tabs do not appear in the chooser. Reports uses calculated results supplied by Google; it does not independently evaluate formulas.
Use Row Highlighter
Enable access to Google Sheets, reload a sheet that was open before installation, and select a cell. Set the tint and strength in the toolbar popup. The highlight is private to your browser and does not change cell values, formatting, or undo history.
Row Highlighter is available for Safari and Chrome. There is no native Sheets add-on: Google’s supported add-on API cannot reproduce the private grid overlay. Google Sheets interface changes can affect active-cell detection; include a small non-sensitive example when reporting a problem.
Trial, purchase, and restore
Try all features free for 14 days. Then Reports is US$4.99 once, and Row Highlighter is US$0.99 once. No subscription or automatic charge. Regional App Store prices may vary. Purchases unlock only the marketplace where you buy them.
Safari uses Apple In-App Purchase in the containing Mac app, including the free trial and Restore purchases. Chrome and the Reports add-on use Stripe-hosted payment and a permanent key. Use License → Check completed purchase, or restore with your saved key. Save the key somewhere private before clearing browser or add-on data. If it is lost, contact support with your purchase receipt, not your card number. Development previews have purchases disabled.
